Cracked Lines
When water freezes it expands. This property of water
can lead to the cracking of sprinkler lines that have not
been winterized properly. This is often a very common
problem, and luckily is not hard to spot or fix.
If you find that a particular zone is not functioning
properly it may be that a main line running to that zone
has cracked. Look for a soft or wet spot in the yard and
you'll likely find your cracked line.
Another dead giveaway is a zone where only a few of
the sprinklers are functioning. Between the final
working sprinkler and the first nonworking sprinkler is
where you'll find your cracked line.
Once you find the crack all you need to do is splice in
a new section of line and you're back in business.
