PVC Sprinkler Line
PVC sprinkler line is a common choice among
professionals and is often used in large irrigation
projects.
Here are some reasons why you would should choose
PVC:
- High Gallonage: If you need sprinklers far away
from your pump, you don't have to run as many
main lines because you can run bigger lines that
have a higher gallonage
- Widely Available: Most hardware stores and
home improvement centers stock PVC lines and
fittings
- Lays Down Easily: PVC doesn't come in rolls, so
when you lay it down it doesn't try to roll up
again
Here are some reasons why you might want to avoid
using PVC line:
- Cost: PVC is much more expensive than black
plastic line
- Durability: PVC grows brittle over time and can
crack in the cold, or if you plan on driving
something heavy like a tractor or a large truck
through your lawn
- Fittings: in addition to purchasing the lines you
have to purchase fittings and the epoxy to hold it
together
- High Gallonage: if you have more gallonage you
need a bigger pump
