before, the more open seams you have, the more
weed will pop up. Also, DO NOT forget to poke holes
in the black plastic for drainage. If you don't, your

Another thing to keep in mind is the weather when
you do this. If it's going to be a very windy day, you
have to put down your mulch or rock soon after you
lay down the barrier. I once spent all morning laying
barrier down, only to return later on and find the
barrier all torn up due to the high winds.
