Layout
Before you go to the store to buy your lights, you have
to layout what you want first. Here are some tips
regarding how to lay out your lights.
- 3'-4' is normally a good distance to space your
lights
- Make sure that your lights are staggered, lights in
a straight line tend to look somewhat blah
- measure how far it is from where your transformer
will be plugged in to 2' past where your last light
will be (a little extra is always good)
- use some wire flags or what ever you have lying
around to mark where your lights might go so you
get an idea as to how it will look when completed
(avoid spray paint, especially if you have rock)
Now that you know how many lights and how much
cord you need, you can head off to the store with a
lot less guesswork.
After you've returned with you wire and lights, take a
minute and run your wire along the flags where your
lights are going to be. Continue on to the next step
for advice regarding light assembly.
